Your Word Is Your Brand

Even though we have all heard the saying “Your actions speak louder than your words”, many people still don’t understand the values of that statement, especially when you are in business. One of the most important aspects of building and keeping the trust of your clients and prospects is your ability to “Do” what you “Say”.

Make it a point at all times to keep track of what you promise in your brand and marketing messages and in general conversation with clients and prospects. It doesn’t matter if you casually mention you are going to return a phone call or send an email or if you promise to make delivery on a major project by a certain date or time, make sure you take note of everything you say and follow through on it. People have a tendency to remember what you say when you make a verbal promise or commitment and you will stamp a negative impression of your brand on the mind of the person you didn’t come through for.

I challenge you today to make a deliberate effort to take action on the words you say. People do business with people they know, like and trust. In order to build and maintain that trust, you must be found trustworthy. So keep your promises when you make a verbal agreement. The reputation of your brand is at stake. So remember, “Your Word Is Your Brand.”
