Set Your Belief System for Entreprenurial Success

As an entrepreneur it is essential that you have a strong belief system in order to successfully show up, serve and prosper. The reference point by which you judge things is the heart of your decision making process. Your own personal experiences have the most impact on your belief system. We tend to automatically block out things that are in contradiction to what we believe. Many successful gurus have reminded us over the years that having negative or limiting beliefs will close down possibilities and even put a lid on your progress.

The cause of either pain or pleasure is stored in your sub-conscious belief system and enables you to make intelligent decisions toward or against that pain or pleasure in the future. Knowing what you believe positions you to be proactive about what gets you out of bed in the morning, fuels your choices, and inspires your spirit as an entrepreneur.

So what does this have to do with positioning you as an entrepreneur to prosper? EVERYTHING! Each day we confront situations either within our own lives or in dealing with clients that we are not able to rise to without a strong belief system. There are four basic influences that tend to shape our belief systems: 1) Environment 2) Credible Others 3) Repetitious Information 4) Life Experiences.

In order to consistently chart or re-chart your course for entrepreneurial success, you must be responsible for what you believe and how you are believing it.

There are some beliefs that surface but don’t necessarily compete with reality. Try these on for size:

  • I believe people can take care of themselves, but I know sometimes they can’t.
  • I believe that my prosperity will not cause someone else to suffer, but I know sometimes it might (less time spent, less financial resources to share, etc.)
  • I believe that being a good steward will allow me to show up successfully in my business.
  • I believe that prosperity is attractive to me and comes through the clients I choose to serve and work with.
  • I believe there are plenty people for whom my work is a perfect match and will value my services and pay for them.
  • I believe mistakes are the fertilizer for my successful future, and I know this includes making amends and correcting any past errors.

Your belief system has the power to make you smarter, stronger, wiser, and more resilient. Your beliefs also challenge you to be more creative, bolder, and to play a bigger game as an entrepreneur.

What is stored in your belief system that allows you to show up, serve and prosper as an entrepreneur?
