Break Out Of Average And Create An Experience

Brand Experience
Have you ever been car shopping?

If you shop at any average dealership, you will always get an average experience. However, let’s say you decide to upgrade to a luxury car this year. As soon as you walk into the dealership, you smell freshly baked cookies and an enthusiastic salesman. He takes his time with you and listens to all of your concerns and questions while he walks you through all of the models you are interested in.

As you look at all the models, he takes into consideration that you have two kids so he makes sure to show you the safety ratings of the back seats for child passengers. Also knowing that you want to save money on gas, he points out the fuel-efficient cars.

He does an incredible job of making you feel like you are not just a customer, but almost like you are joining a small community by choosing their car. After you buy your car, every time you come to their dealership, they offer you Starbucks and let you borrow a car to do errands while you wait for your repair. They make sure to send you a gift card to your favorite restaurant every year on your birthday, and they check in every now and then to see if there is anything else they can do for you.

Sounds like an incredible experience, right?

Now let’s talk about how this relates to you and your brand.

What do you do that creates a unique and unforgettable experience for your industry?

Most people follow the same standards that their competitors have, and the secret is to go above and beyond what the people around you are doing. When you go above and beyond their expectations by creating a full experience, they will never forget you and will also tell all of their friends about you.

A great way to create a brand experience is to write down what your customers have in common and also things they love the most. The more details you can find, the better of an experience you can create.

Some ideas of things that can set you apart are:

  1. Hosting events. Can you create a more interactive experience by either having a one-on-one or group event? How can you expand on your services to provide more value in an event?
  2. Can you send a unique gift? Is there something you could send them that would really enhance working with you? If you’re a consultant, you could send them a notebook full of specialized spreadsheets to help them keep track of their progress. If you’re a speaker you could hand out a free take home guide to help the audience expand on the ideas you presented.
  3. Studying the leaders in brand experiences. One of the biggest leaders in brand experience is the Ritz Carlton. If you search anywhere on the internet, you can hear remarkable stories about their customer service going above and beyond to deliver the best service possible.

Make sure to align your experience with the ultimate vision of your brand. (tweet this)  Combining your ultimate vision with the best brand experience you can give will make you absolutely unforgettable.
